Hello! 

My name is Jennifer Fichamba, and I am running to serve you on the Highline School Board District 2. I am a Career Educator with experience with multiple groups of students at multiple district sites. I started my career at Chinook Middle School as support staff in the Integrated Learning Center then working as a College and Career Specialist at the Evergreen Campus. For the last 8 years I have been the  GEAR Up Specialist in the Tukwila School District. Through my work I am able to support students as they navigate High School and transition to postsecondary whether that is University or Apprenticeships. I currently serve as the    Vice President of Tukwila Educational Association representing ESP's (Educational Support Professionals). 

I am Highline School District alum a proud mom of a soon to be graduating Senior of Highline High School. We are  a proud Union supporting family, my partner, Ramon, is an Union Iron Worker at Local 86.

Why am I running...

I believe that it is important to have students at the center of discussions when decision are being made about their lives and their futures. I am running for Highline School Board to bring their voices and the voices of educators to the table and to ensure they are involved in the process of designing the future. I also want to work to build partnerships between the district and the cities that our students and their families live, work and celebrate in so that we can work together to create a supportive environment in and outside the school building. We are stronger when we work together to provide and advocate for our youth and we make them stronger when we give them agency.
